Good morning from Spain, Biscay coast !!! As usual, the winter and early spring is the time for preparing and improving some our systems on the boat. This year, we focused on small (relatively) but important systems :
A new Staysail, tridadial cut in D2 fabric, as the old one has reached her age of retirement ;
A new engine & GENSET starting battery, the existing system was not powerful enough to start easily the generator ;
Adding new winches, and repositioning some of the primary winches : a 52 at the mast, and two 62 dedicated to the running backstays ;
And cockpit teak planking has been replaced, it looks very nice and pleasant now !!
I do not know if I will have the time to install a new navigation computer, but as you know, these kind of systems are not considered critical.
This has been also the time of thinking on a more distant future, mostly where to go, and in which order. Tierra de Fuego has been for long in my bucket list, as well as a bit of Polynesia, and western Canada and USA, before it turns into a sandy desert ;)
I am open to suggestions, if they come along with a well thought and organised plan.
