Iceland by Sea

We will start by sailing along the West Fjords. This part of the island has been shaped by ancient glaciers, and is scattered with numerous little harbours lying in spectacular landscapes.

We are able to reach the quiet and beautiful fjords of the Hornstrandir nature reserve, where we can go hiking and watch Arctic foxes in their natural habitat.

During this week, we will sail at a leisurely pace, calling into little fishing villages and enjoying treks from the shore. The spring with its dark nights will allow us to ski and to seize each opportunity to admire the northern lights of the arctic, and the volcanic marvels of the shore during the daytime.

In Autumn we will enjoy delicious and traditional Icelandic meals of berries, lamb, fish and vegetables, as well as fine desserts. This is also the time when humpback whales gather in the Isafarðardjúp for feeding, offering an amazing show.
